4 STEPS TO BECOME A CONTENT CREATOR

HOW TO BECOME A CONTENT CREATOR?

Expert writers and editors do more than only create and disseminate digital media. They create an audience and make money with that content.

The paths to different positions may differ, but there’s a general process you can follow to become a social media content creator. Here are four steps on how to become a content creator.

Step 1: Boost your knowledge
It's likely that you already know the kind of content creator you wish to be. There is nothing left to do is refine or advance your abilities.

Try preparing for well-known and valued businesses. For example, let's say you wish to work as a copywriter. To demonstrate your abilities, try completing a fake creative brief. To advertise the release of a new pair of shoes, you can create a headline, a post for social media, and a product description.

Courses are a great method to keep improving your skills. You may learn about many types of content development from an array of online courses. You could also get in touch with other content producers whose work you like. Request their feedback on how they honed their craft or, if they're willing, ask them to go through and comment on your work.

Step2: Put together a portfolio
After you begin honing those abilities, it's time to showcase your work. Create an online portfolio to show potential employers or clients some of your best work.

Are you just getting started and have nothing to show for it? Show off your speculative work—which is simply defined as "make

Even if you’re building your personal brand as an influencer and not, say, a videographer, a portfolio is a useful tool. Do you want to attract brands who want to partner with you? Show them how you’ve partnered with other brands in the past.

Be sure to link your social media accounts and make your contact information easy to find.

Step 3: Get working hard
Prospective customers are virtually everywhere. Start by contacting job advertisements, freelancer-needed ads, or networking. You might even consider going after possibilities that come up in your regular life.

Maybe you've observed a website that requires new banner adverts. You may send them a cold email as a budding graphic designer offering your skills.

here are five ideas for finding new work:

1  Join as many Facebook groups for freelancers as you can. Customers might post necessary tasks, or       you might establish useful business connections.
2  Post your elevator pitch or portfolio in appropriate web directories. Search online for travel groups if      you are a great photographer.
3  marketing with content Slack channels are excellent venues for networking.
4  Be active on LinkedIn and create posts with keywords relevant to your industry and title.

Step 4: Receive payment

When you're first starting out, it might be difficult to value yourself. To see what other people in your experience range are charging, check out your market average. Initially, try not to ignore yourself.
If you're hoping to work as an internal content creator for a company, find out what the industry average is for the role. In this manner, you can filter out job openings that provide compensation that is too low (be paid what you're worth) or too high (expectations may be beyond your skill set).

Make sure you and your clients have signed written contracts if you plan to work for yourself. Add your terms for payment.
